So, what is screentone and what on earth do you do with it?
Basically, screentone is a low-tack adhesive-backed, transparent sheet of black printed dots. Used by manga artists in Japan (where comics are predominately b&w) screentone represents shading. The size of the dots, the pattern and the distance they are apart from each other gives the optical illusion (at a distance) of differing shades of grey. Extemely easy to use, screentone can be repositioned and peeled from artwork without any form of damage. Once you have your shaded artwork just how you want it, simply rub the screentone into place with a blunt end (such as the 'Tone Hera)'.

SCREENTONE Basic Screen
While there are no 'fancy patterns' here, this BASIC SCREEN collection of screentones consisit of the screens most often used due to their simple dot flexibility and tonal range.

SCREENTONE Special Pattern Screen
When choosing one of the SPECIAL PATTERN sheets keep in mind that some are more of a repeating pattern whilst others can take up a whole sheet. You should be able to tell which is which by the product illustration, if you have any questions just email us, we are always happy to help. SCREENTONE Graduated Pattern Screen
The next step up in 'fanciness' is the GRADUATED PATTERN. The descriptions are for the amount of dots in a linear inch. There's obviously no dot percentage as the graduation means the size of the dot is changing as the pattern gets lighter and darker. And remember, if you buy 4 sheets or any multiple of 4 sheets you will save £2.00 per set of 4. Cool!
